This one-day workshop offers an introduction to monoprinting using a printing press. Monoprint is a versatile printmaking technique, combining inked surfaces, a range of textures and mark-making to create one-off prints. Each print is unique and cannot be repeated, offering an introduction to a fun and expressive way of printmaking.
The course will cover:
inking up plates and colour mixing
making stencils to create shapes to print with
incorporating found textures and patterns as well as pieces from the Museum’s collection
creating a small number of unique prints using the different techniques learned throughout the day
